The Story Behind PassivEdge
How It All Started
When I first dipped my toes into passive investing, I thought I had the hard part covered. Like most investors, I started with the big questions:
1) What do I want to invest in?
2) How much do I want to invest?
Then came the moment I tried to set up my first recurring order. A single, simple question stopped me in my tracks:
“Which day do you want to place your recurring order?”
A Trivial Matter?
It was a detail I hadn't even considered. Naturally, I asked around to see what other investors were doing, but the answer was always the same:
“Pick any day, it doesn't matter”
But that didn't sit right with me. In the world of investing, I don't believe in leaving anything to chance. I couldn't help but wonder:
Is this choice really as insignificant as everyone assumes? or is it an opportunity for a passive edge?
Am I the Odd One Out?
The moment I started to question the status quo, my internal alarms went off.
I couldn't possibly be the first person to ask this.
Surely, minds sharper than mine had already crunched the numbers and concluded that the date was irrelevant.
When I went looking for the evidence to support this “solved problem,” I found nothing, and I wondered:
Had anyone actually tested this and found out that it doesn't matter?
The Passive Paradox
I turned to passive investing for a reason, low effort, no timing, just consistent results. I believed the market was too smart to beat, that it has already thought of everything and it's “priced in”.
Simply, time in the market is better than timing the market
But as I was setting up an order that would execute on a specific date, for months and years to come, I hit a wall.
How can we call a strategy “optimized”, if a key part of it is left to a coin flip?
The “it doesn't matter” days are over
I couldn't find the data, so I built the tool to find it myself. I created this platform so you don't have to take anyone's word for it.
Use this tool to uncover the specific day that gives your portfolio a passive edge.
I didn't want to leave my future to chance, and you shouldn't either.
Find your optimal date. Stop leaving your returns to a coin flip.
